We are a professional couple with over 12 years experience in web site promotion and internet marketing. Over the past 12 years we have sold all of our private residences on the internet to people from around the world. We originally decided to sell our house privately as we had an investment opportunity arise and needed to sell quickly. At the time we lived in an area that had, what I would term, a sluggish real estate market. Most homes took at least a year to sell if not longer. Agents in the area continued to market homes the way they had for the last twenty years. I am not knocking real estate agents, but a lot of them continue to use outdated methods to sell.....most when asked about their internet marketing strategy will state "We have the MLS". Due to the fact we had a wealth of experience in sales and marketing specific to the internet, we felt that there was a new opportunity for us to sell our home privately. We sold our first home within three weeks of listing.
